"Is this a log home kit?"

This is by far one of the most common questions we hear. There are quality log home 'kits' out there, but it is indeed rare that a cookie-cutter kit can address all of the needs of a particular client. Once you start manipulating the floorplan to meet your needs, the home is no longer a kit and begins to move into the realm of custom homes.

That being said, we invite our clients to look at floorplans available from log home manufacturers and online. From there you will need to adjust those 'stock' floorplans to meet your unique criteria. Most log home outfits are happy to work with customers to customize a catalog floorplan and then work with their engineering departments to ensure that the changes are structurally sound and practically usable.

Your custom built cypress log home should be a reflection of your unique style and personality and should be like no other home out there. It is important that you understand that there are no boxes of pre-cut logs out there waiting to be slapped together into a kit home. The difference between actually building a stock floorplan and a custom one is not that great. That being the case, the prospective log home customer should consider taking the extra steps to work with the builder to design a home that meets their needs rather than adjusting their lifestyle to fit what may be available as a 'standard' or 'kit' home.
